Description
The DAC-100-72 Is widely used for Double action stamping of cups. (cups are the first operation of making cans for food or beverages )
The Double Action name describes the 2 actions of the press. In the video you will see the OUTER SLIDE reciprocating as any other press. Insided that OUTER SLIDE is an additional INNER SLIDE. The inner slide is timed by the crankshaft to be 60 degrees behind the OUTER SLIDE. The reason for the 2 slides reaching Bottom Dead Center at different intervals, is that the OUTER SLIDE will reach BDC to cut the blank size. As the OUTER Slide is about to move upwards...The INNER SLIDE is continuing downward push the severed blanks down thru the forming dies. The cups are ejected thru the bottom side of the die set. Both slides then continue upward to prepare for the metal to be fed into the die set for the next hit. Normally these produce 12 cups per hit at a rate of 200 hits per minute.240 cups per minute. Some are faster than that.
The Minster DAC-100-72 Has a stroke of 3 inches on the Outer Slide and 4.5 inches on the INNER SLIDE. The bed size is 42 x 72. The Shutheights are 24 inches on the OUTER SLIDE and 32 inches on the INNER SLIDE. The shutheights each have 2 inches of adjustment.
These style Minster presses have proven for decades to be reliable workhorses for users that demand accuracy, speed and safety.
We recondition the bed and slides to be just like new. Replace the crankshaft , replace connection rods and bearings, rebuild the counterbalances, clutch and brake and complete lubrication system.
If a customer would like to have a single action press we could remove inner slide mechanisms. A single action machine would be more suitable for producing Beverage Can Lids, paint can lids, aerosol ends or any shallower drawn items.
